By entering a particular category, you agree that the portfolio details submitted are a fair reflection of performance. When submitting the name of the portfolio, please verify the source of the data and confirm that it is either:
- GIPS compliant
- An average of all your portfolios run in that style
- The median of all your portfolios run in that style
- A sample of the portfolios you run in that style
Enhance Group will do the due diligence on the portfolios submitted to verify their integrity and will contact you directly should they need to.
The information provided through entering these awards will only be seen by Enhance Group, hand-picked staff at Last Word and the judging panel.
Supporting material is optional. The most important point to focus on when preparing any background material and supporting evidence is that quality and relevance matter most, not quantity.
The panel of judges will also review relevant websites so full addresses and access codes should be provided where that forms part of an entry. A maximum of three files can be submitted no bigger than 2MB per file size.
In general, the judges are expecting to review matters that have come to fruition (ie with measurable results) over the previous 12-18 months, although longer-term success and sustainable development are also relevant, especially when it comes to financial performance and client service.
Portfolio Adviser has put together a few tips on what makes a good entry and will wow the judges:
Tell a story
Use the opening paragraphs of your entry to explain why you deserve to win. When answering each of the bulleted points, tell a story that backs this up.
Judges will be looking for the ideas, skills, and passion that have enabled your business to grow. They will also want to see the bigger picture of your overall direction.
Support what you’re saying
Include clear and measurable evidence of your achievements and explain why you believe they are significant or innovative. Dependent on category, examples can include financial targets vs actuals, client testimonials, staff qualifications and business projections.
Show you’re a leader
Judges want to know who is going to be leading the way. What new areas of best practice are you pushing to achieve your business goals?
Don’t be afraid of offering more than words on a form. The judges are an impressionable bunch and are happy to be shown as well as told why you should win. From promotional materials, photographs and videos, to letters from clients, a bit of colour goes a long way. This awards site allows up to three supporting documents of all file types. Links to evidence can be included in your entry form.
Get people involved
Writing an entry can be a daunting task when resources and time are tight, so try and get as many people as you can to help you through the process. Getting buy-in from the start will ensure any grey areas are addressed and the end result will feel like a true team effort.
If you have any questions regarding entering or you are having trouble submitting your entry, please do not hesitate to contact the awards team – email@example.com or telephone +44 (0)20 3872 5998. Alternatively, you can send your entry and supporting documentation to firstname.lastname@example.org.
